Infinix GT 50 Pro: a gaming phone with a 6.78" AMOLED 144Hz display, Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chipset, physical gaming triggers, liquid cooling, and a large battery with 45W wired and 30W wireless charging. Explore full specs and price.

What Are the Pros and Cons of the Infinix GT 50 Pro?

Pros

  • Gaming-focused with real features: dual pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers with 8 mapping points and 10 levels of pressure sensitivity, a HydroFlow liquid cooling system, and customizable RGB lights on the back.
  • Strong, steady performance: the Mediatek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate (4 nm) chipset with an all-big-core CPU design, UFS 4.1 storage, and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and GSMArena's review praised its reliable sustained performance in stress tests.
  • An excellent display: a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, a 4500-nit peak brightness, and 1208 x 2644 resolution at 440 ppi density.
  • Battery and complete charging: a 6500mAh battery with 45W wired, 30W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging, scoring an Active Use time of 15 hours and 28 minutes in GSMArena's testing. It also features Dolby Atmos speakers, an infrared port, and a 50MP main camera with OIS plus an 8MP ultrawide.

Cons

  • Water resistance is weak for its class: only an IP64 rating (dust and water splashes), which GSMArena's review explicitly called not competitive for ingress protection.
  • Update support is limited and inconsistently announced: the final review confirmed 3 major Android upgrades and 5 years of security patches, even though Infinix's initial announcement cited "5 years of support." I relied on the final review figure.
  • There is no official HDR video support: the review noted the excellent screen does not officially support HDR video, and that video stabilization could be better. The optional external cooler does not really improve performance.
  • The build materials are plastic: a plastic frame and back (with a Gorilla Glass 7i front), so it does not feel premium despite its attractive looks. And the biggest practical drawback is its limited availability in just a handful of markets.
