Google Pixel 10a: a budget phone with a 6.3" P-OLED 120Hz display, Tensor G4 chipset, a 48MP camera, a 5100mAh battery, and 7 years of updates. Explore full specs and price.

What Are the Pros and Cons of the Google Pixel 10a?

Pros

  • Very long software support is the standout strength: up to 7 major Android upgrades and 7 years of security updates, with Android 16 and a near-stock experience.
  • Excellent battery life: despite its 5100mAh capacity, it scored an Active Use time of 15 hours and 13 minutes in GSMArena's testing, outperforming the Pixel 9a across all tests.
  • A good display with high brightness: a 6.3-inch P-OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 2000-nit (HBM) and 3000-nit (peak) brightness, and 1080 x 2424 resolution at 422 ppi density, with an Adaptive Tone feature that adjusts color temperature to ambient lighting.
  • A dual camera system (rare in the budget class): a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide, and the presence of an ultrawide directly sets it apart from its rival, the iPhone 17e. It also features IP68 dust and water resistance (immersible up to 1.5m for 30 minutes), 10W wireless charging, Bluetooth 6.0, and Satellite SOS support.

Cons

  • The phone is nearly identical to its predecessor: the reviews described it as seeming like a re-released Pixel 9a, carrying essentially the same chipset, battery, display, and cameras, offering little new for those who own the prior generation.
  • The chipset is old: the same Tensor G4 from the previous generation, with benchmark performance the review called uninspiring compared to rivals at the same price. The storage is also UFS 3.1 rather than the latest.
  • Charging is modest: 30W wired only (50% in 30 minutes). And the price is relatively high for its class: the review described it as a solid phone with a higher-than-usual price tag, with a price cut or chipset update expected after a full year but neither materializing. The USB port is also dated: USB Type-C 2.0.
