YouTube's biggest growth in recent years has come from TV viewership, and the Google-owned company is now looking to monetize that audience more aggressively.
YouTube is introducing unskippable 30-second ads on TVs, now available to advertisers globally. The company explains to advertisers that its AI "dynamically optimizes between 6-second Bumpers, 15-second standard, and 30-second connected TV-only non-skippable ad formats, ensuring your campaign reaches the right audience at the right time."
The obvious solution is to subscribe to YouTube Premium if ads are a concern. YouTube recently made Premium Lite — the cheaper option — much more enticing by adding new features, so for those who don't want to pay for full Premium, the Lite route is worth considering.
