vivo X300 Ultra: Official 200MP Main Camera Details Revealed

As MWC 2026 in Barcelona drew to a close, vivo broke its silence and officially confirmed key camera hardware details for the upcoming X300 Ultra — a phone that's shaping up to be one of the most ambitious camera flagships of 2026.

200MP Main Camera with Sony's Newest Sensor

vivo product manager Han Boxiao confirmed via Weibo that the X300 Ultra will feature a 200MP primary rear camera using the Sony LYTIA-901 1/1.12-inch sensor with a 35mm focal length.

vivo claims the new sensor captures 30% more light per pixel than before, while also supporting improved stabilization that meets the CIPA 6.5 standard — a notable step up from the CIPA 5.0 certification of the X200 Ultra.

New Lens System: Up to 30% Less Glare

The lens system of the 200MP camera has been upgraded to a 1 glass + 6 plastic element configuration, with a new coating claimed to reduce glare by up to 30% compared to the previous setup.

The Full Camera System

The X300 Ultra's rear camera setup also includes a 200MP periscope telephoto with a Samsung HPB 1/1.4-inch sensor carrying Zeiss APO certification, a 50MP Sony LYT828 ultrawide camera, and a 5MP multispectral sensor for more precise color and lighting readings.

Video capabilities include 8K recording and 4K at 120fps with Dolby Vision HDR support.

The Zeiss Teleconverter: A Smartphone-Camera Hybrid

One of MWC's most talked-about accessories, the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, brings an equivalent focal length of 400mm to the X300 Ultra, extendable to 800mm with in-sensor zoom. The kit also includes a professional photography handle and a SmallRig video cage for enhanced control.

Core Specs

The X300 Ultra runs a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display at 2K resolution (1440 × 3168px), powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on a 3nm process, with up to 16GB RAM.

The 7,000mAh battery supports 100W wired and 40W wireless charging, alongside USB 3.2 and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner.

Software is OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, and the phone carries both IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.

Availability

The X300 Ultra is expected to officially launch in China in March 2026, followed by a global rollout likely in Q2 2026 — marking the first time a vivo Ultra model will be available beyond the Chinese market.
