vivo X300 FE Urban Olive — The Compact Flagship That Defies Its Size

vivo began the international rollout of the X300 FE last month and introduced the smartphone in India alongside the X300 Ultra at an event in New Delhi. The X300 FE will be available in India in Noir Black, Lilac Purple, and Urban Olive colors. The Urban Olive colorway is exclusive to India, at least initially — and we got our hands on one.

Design — Urban Olive Changes with the Light

The shade of green on the X300 FE Urban Olive appears different depending on the lighting conditions and the angle at which light reflects its surface. It is darker than the Victory Green of the X300 Ultra. The aluminum frame matches the color of the back cover with a matte finish that resists smudges and gives a premium in-hand feel.

The Urban Olive variant offers a soft, matcha-like tone giving it a fresh, distinctly Gen Z appeal. The glass back features a Metal Sand AG anti-glare finish that does a great job of resisting smudges.

Dimensions: 150.8×71.8×8.2mm, weighing 190 grams — smaller and lighter than most flagships with 6.7-6.8-inch screens.

Display — Compact But Brilliant

6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED, 1 billion colors, 120Hz, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, HDR10+, 5,000 nits peak brightness, 1216×2640 pixels at 461ppi. A punch-hole houses the 50MP selfie camera with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath.

Processor and Performance

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (3nm) with 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage in 256GB or 512GB configurations.

A Reddit user pointed out that the X300 FE is more "import-friendly" in Western regions due to better network band support from Qualcomm compared to the regular X300 with its MediaTek chipset.

Camera — Triple ZEISS in a Horizontal Bar

50MP main camera, 50MP 3x telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide — all ZEISS-tuned.

The main and telephoto cameras handle portraits, street photography, and concert scenes with real confidence. An optional telephoto extender accessory also exists for extended reach. The 8MP ultrawide is the only real weak link in the system.

Battery — The Standout Engineering Feat

A 6,500mAh cell in a phone this slim and light isn't something you see every day. The 90W wired and 40W wireless charging mean you're rarely stuck waiting long when it runs low.

Durability and Software

IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance. Runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6. Vivo promises five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.

Price

Starts at ₹79,999 (~$960) in India for the 12GB/256GB variant.
