The vivo S50 series was announced back in December, and we are now getting our first set of info for its successors. The upcoming S60 series is now being teased in China, where vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao shared images of the vanilla S60 model. The images show the side and back profile of the device, and it seems like it will have an aluminum frame and a triple camera setup.
According to Han Boxiao, the vivo S60 series uses a silver-white rear panel inspired by sunlight reflecting on ocean waves during summer. He said the light patterns on the back panel shift as the phone moves, creating a shimmering effect. The company also mentioned a large integrated cold-carved glass rear panel designed to provide a smoother and more premium in-hand feel.
Display: 6.59-inch flat AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Processor: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 — the same chip as its predecessor, maintaining performance continuity.
Camera — The Major Upgrade: The main camera is rumored to receive a significant upgrade to a 200MP sensor — a massive improvement over the 50MP shooter on the S50. A 50MP telephoto lens is also being discussed.
Durability and Battery: IP69 dust and water resistance and a larger battery capacity.
The teaser did not provide any details on the S60 Pro Mini. But leaks suggest the Pro Mini will also support the external telephoto extender accessory like the standard model.
vivo is also said to be planning a collaboration with a popular Chinese anime IP for one of the phone's color variants.
According to rumors, the vivo S60 could launch globally under a different name, with expectations pointing to a rebrand as the vivo V80.
Last year's vivo S50 Pro Mini arrived globally as the vivo X300 FE. Based on that strategy, the vivo S60 Pro Mini could later debut as the vivo X500 FE sometime during the first half of 2027 for the global market.
