Tecno Spark 50 Pro — Unboxing and First Impressions

Following the Tecno Spark 50 5G and Spark 50 4G, Tecno completes its series with the Pro member. We have the Spark 50 Pro with us to see what it's all about.

The box contains: a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer, a compatible Tecno charger rated at up to 60W, and a soft-touch silicone case matching the device's color.

Including a 60W fast charger and a case in the box is a notable gesture in the budget segment — many phones at this price don't even include a charger.

Design — 7.8mm Slim Inspired by iPhone 17 Pro

The Spark 50 Pro's design, especially in Dynamic Orange, is quite reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max. The body is flat for the most part, thin at just 7.8mm, lightweight, and durable. Available in Dynamic Orange, Midnight Blue, Ink Black, Titanium Gray, and Cloud White.

7.8mm is exceptional slimness in the budget segment — many flagship phones don't reach this thinness. Drawing inspiration from iPhone design is common among budget phone companies but it produces comfortable in-hand phones even if not original.

Protection — IP68/IP69 in a Budget Phone

The phone offers IP68/IP69 ingress protection.

IP68 and IP69 together in a phone at this price is very rare — IP69 specifically (resistance to high-pressure water jets) is a feature many mid-range phones at much higher prices don't offer.

Display and Chipset

The handset is built around a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate, while the Helio G100 chipset handles processing. Available in a single memory configuration — 8GB/256GB.

Helio G100 is a mid-efficiency processor for basic daily tasks. The absence of multiple memory options is a limitation but 256GB fixed storage is sufficient.

Battery and Charging — The Star Feature

Battery endurance and charging is where the Tecno Spark 50 Pro shines. It employs a generous 6,000mAh single-cell battery, but some markets get the dual-cell version with a slightly smaller 5,600mAh unit. In either case you get 60W wired charging with the charger supplied in the box.

Tecno promises at least 1,900 charging cycles, or at least 6 years of use before notable battery degradation occurs.

A 1,900-cycle charging warranty equates to charging the phone daily for over 5 years — a confidence indicator from Tecno in its battery cell quality. Most companies announce only 800-1,000 cycles.

Cameras — Sony LYTIA 600 With Dedicated Selfie Flash

The camera hardware is quite simple — 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 f/1.8 camera on the back, while the front houses an 8MP snapper with a dedicated flash for better low-light selfies.

Sony LYTIA 600 is a good sensor in the budget segment — common in multiple phones delivering acceptable shots in good lighting. A dedicated front flash is rare at this price — significantly improving selfie quality at night.

Audio and Software

The handset boasts DTS stereo speakers for a complete multimedia experience. It boots Android 16 out of the box with Tecno's HiOS on top.
