TCL Unveils First AMOLED-Based NxtPaper Display at MWC 2026: Paper-Like Eye Comfort Meets OLED Vibrancy

At MWC 2026, TCL CSOT unveiled its first AMOLED-based NxtPaper display — a generational shift for the NxtPaper line, which has relied exclusively on LCD panels until now.

The dual goal: paper-like reading comfort for extended daily use, with full AMOLED color vibrancy for photos and video.

The Core Breakthrough: 90% CPL Polarization Rate

The upgraded Circular Polarizer Light (CPL) technology achieves a 90% polarization rate — a major jump from the previous generation's 57%. TCL CSOT also applied nano-matrix lithography to significantly reduce ambient light reflections and glare, which is a primary driver of eye fatigue.

Eye Comfort Features

Blue light filtration improved by 15% over the previous generation, bringing total harmful blue light down to just 2.9%.

Minimum brightness reaches 1 nit for late-night reading — a level most AMOLED displays cannot achieve without noticeable flickering.

Throughout the day, the display automatically adjusts its brightness and color temperature to align with the user's circadian rhythm and ambient lighting conditions.

An Adaptive Reading Experience mode adjusts text background color based on ambient light to further reduce eye strain.

General Display Performance

100% DCI-P3 color coverage with deltaE below 1 for perfect color accuracy, 3,200 nits peak brightness for outdoor use, and 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming.

Reduced reflectivity means the display rarely needs to reach maximum brightness outdoors — an incidental battery life benefit.

First Devices Coming Later in 2026

TCL CSOT confirmed the first devices featuring the NxtPaper AMOLED display will arrive later in 2026, with a smartphone leading the lineup.

FAQs

TCL CSOT is launching its first NxtPaper AMOLED display at MWC 2026, featuring CPL technology, 90% polarization, nano-lithography for reduced reflection, 2.9% harmful blue light reduction, and 1 nit night brightness — with full DCI-P3 coverage, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,200 nit peak brightness. The first phone to feature it will debut in 2026.
