Samsung has brought its Certified Re-Newed program to India. Through this program, the company is offering officially refurbished devices at discounted prices. Right now, you can buy a Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S25 Ultra with 256GB of storage for ₹97,499, a Galaxy S25 with 256GB for ₹58,749, a Galaxy A56 with 8GB RAM and 256GB for ₹31,499, a Galaxy A56 with 12GB RAM and 256GB for ₹32,749, and a Galaxy A36 with 128GB for ₹23,249.
Every device sold under the Certified Re-Newed banner undergoes a comprehensive inspection, cleaning, testing, and software validation process at authorized facilities. Phones are restored using genuine Samsung parts wherever replacements are needed. Each unit is factory reset to erase previous user data and updated with the latest available software before sale.
The phones have the latest software installed and come with the same one-year warranty as new devices.
Samsung packages the devices in new retail boxes along with accessories including a USB cable, SIM ejector tool, and quick-start guide.
Samsung has been offering refurbished phones in other countries including the US for the past three years under its Certified Re-Newed program. In South Korea, the CRN program was launched in 2025. Samsung announced the launch of the program in India on May 6, 2026.
However, there is one major issue right now. Samsung's refurbished phones are priced similarly to brand-new units of the same Galaxy phones sold by retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart. This could make the value proposition less attractive for certain buyers, especially when discounts on new phones are available.
The move comes shortly after Samsung introduced its Galaxy Forever ownership plan in India. With both programs, Samsung appears to be expanding its efforts to make premium smartphones more accessible to Indian consumers.
The ongoing DRAM crisis driving up new phone prices has pushed many buyers toward pre-owned and refurbished alternatives.
