Samsung is continuing its rollout of One UI 8.5, the version of its Android skin that made its debut on the Galaxy S26 family early this year. The company beta tested it until early May for older devices, and over the past few weeks it's been busy releasing it to more and more handsets.
The Galaxy A54 from 2023 — one of Samsung's most widely distributed and sold mid-range phones — now receives the long-awaited update.
Today the Galaxy A54 from 2023 is the one graced with its very own taste of One UI 8.5, but with a caveat. The update is currently only available in Korea, where the Galaxy A54 is sold as the Galaxy Quantum 4. It has the same model number though, and is for all intents and purposes the same device.
The One UI 8.5 build going out in Korea is A546SKSUGFZE2. Usually, once an update is out in Korea, you can expect around a week to pass before Samsung releases it in more markets, provided of course that no big issues were found during the Korean rollout. That should be the case here as well.
One UI 8.5 is Samsung's biggest update this cycle — built on Android 15 with enhanced Galaxy AI features and comprehensive interface updates. It launched first on Galaxy S26 then S25 and S24, and is now expanding to the A-Series at an accelerating pace.
Galaxy A54 received a promise of four major Android updates at launch — making this likely the fourth and final expected update in its official support journey. Its arrival proves Samsung honors its commitments to phone users even years after launch.
If you're a Galaxy A54 user outside Korea and want to know when the update arrives for you: go to Settings ← Software update ← Download and install. If it doesn't appear yet the next week will likely bring the news.
