Samsung has started rolling out the May 2026 security patch to the Galaxy A54. The international variant of the smartphone in Asian and Middle Eastern countries, including India and Saudi Arabia, is the first to get it.
The Galaxy A55 was the first phone to receive the May 2026 security update, and now the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A56 are joining in as well.
The update is 286.79MB in size and carries firmware version A546EXXSJEZE5. To check its availability, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The update is based on One UI 8 running on Android 16. Security patch date: May 5, 2026.
Samsung's May 2026 security update patches 39 vulnerabilities across Android and One UI, including two critical and 27 high-severity issues from the Android Security Bulletin. It also fixes 10 Samsung-specific SVEs, addressing flaws like arbitrary code execution, data exposure, and improper permissions.
The update is relatively small in size at just over 270MB and does not introduce any new features or visible UI changes. Instead, it focuses entirely on system security and stability improvements — typical for monthly maintenance releases.
The Galaxy A54 continues to receive consistent updates well into its lifecycle, which aligns with Samsung's broader commitment to extended software support across its mid-range devices.
The Galaxy A54 launched in 2023 — three years of consistent monthly security updates proves the seriousness of Samsung's support promises.
Samsung has also announced One UI 9.0 and released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. While the Galaxy A54 is eligible to get it, Samsung may not release it for the Galaxy A series anytime soon.
