Telegram is one of the most widely used messaging apps in the Arab world, but it has faced bans in several countries due to government decisions related to misuse by certain channels, privacy violations, or violations of platform policies. When this happens, Telegram services stop entirely — messages, channels, and groups all become inaccessible, frustrating millions of users who rely on it daily.
The smart workaround that bypasses this block without complex apps: the MTProto proxy built directly into Telegram — the best, fastest, and most stable solution available.
MTProto is the custom encryption protocol developed by Telegram. A proxy built on this protocol works as an "intermediary" between your device and Telegram's servers — it reroutes the connection through an intermediate server in a different country that isn't subject to the block. The big advantage: this proxy is built directly into Telegram itself and requires no additional app installation.
The difference between a proxy and a VPN: a proxy routes only Telegram traffic, while a VPN routes all internet traffic on your device. This makes the proxy faster, lighter, and more suitable specifically for Telegram.
This method requires no additional app — just Telegram and a channel that provides updated proxies.
Step 1 — Join the Proxy Channel
If Telegram works even partially, join the proxy channel directly: search for a Telegram channel called "Proxy MT Proto" or "TelMTProto" or access it directly via: telegram.me/TelMTProto
If Telegram is completely blocked, activate the 1.1.1.1 app first (Method 2) to access the channel, then follow these steps.
Step 2 — Choose an Available Proxy
In the channel you'll find a list of proxies posted regularly. Always look for the most recently added proxy (latest date) — older proxies expire and stop working. Each proxy shows a status indicator: "Available" or "Unavailable."
Step 3 — Connect to the Proxy
Tap on the available proxy. A confirmation message will appear. Tap "Connect to Proxy." Telegram will automatically add it to its settings and begin connecting.
Step 4 — Verify Successful Connection
When the connection succeeds a checkmark ✓ will appear in the upper corner of Telegram's main screen. This means the proxy is working and Telegram is fully connected.
If Telegram is completely blocked and you can't access the proxy channel, the free 1.1.1.1 app from Cloudflare is the fast free solution.
Step 1 — Download the 1.1.1.1 app free from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Full app name: "1.1.1.1 — Faster Internet" by Cloudflare. Step 2 — Open the app and tap the large connect button in the center. Wait until it switches to "Connected." Step 3 — Open Telegram — it will work now because 1.1.1.1 has temporarily bypassed the block. Step 4 — Join the proxy channel and activate an MTProto proxy as in Method 1. Step 5 — After activating the proxy you can turn off 1.1.1.1 — Telegram will continue working through the proxy.
If you have proxy data (IP + Port + Secret) you can enter it directly: go to Telegram Settings → Privacy and Security → Connection Type → Use Custom Proxy → enter the data and save.
Always choose the most recently dated proxies from channels. If Telegram slows down switch to a different proxy. You can add multiple proxies in Telegram and pick the fastest. Some channels indicate the speed and country of each proxy — choose one geographically closer to you.
