The seamless file-sharing experience once a hallmark of Apple's AirDrop is steadily making its way to more Android devices. Recent updates confirm that OPPO Find X9 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra are the latest smartphones to gain this capability through Google's enhanced Quick Share.
Google first introduced AirDrop support in Quick Share in November last year, with the Pixel 10 series being the first to receive the feature. It later confirmed gradual expansion to other Pixel and Android devices. Now OPPO Find X9 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra are among the first non-Google/Samsung phones to adopt the unified system.
Phones supporting it now: Samsung Galaxy S26, Google Pixel 10, 9, and 8a, OPPO Find X9 series and Find N6, and vivo X300 Ultra.
Phones coming in 2026: Samsung Galaxy S25, S24, Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and Z TriFold. OPPO Find X8 series. OnePlus 15. HONOR Magic V6 and Magic8 Pro. Xiaomi with unspecified models.
The user enables Quick Share on Android and enables AirDrop on iPhone, then selects "Share with Apple devices" in Quick Share settings. The transfer happens wirelessly and directly without intermediary apps or cloud uploads.
Cross-platform transfers are slower than native AirDrop or Android-to-Android Quick Share. This is an implementation shortcoming of the cross-platform protocol rather than a hardware shortcoming in either device. But in practical use — photos, documents, video clips — the speed difference won't be a significant barrier.
Quick Share really only worked well on Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy phones. If you used another brand, you probably had to deal with different, incompatible sharing options. That is now beginning to change.
