Hours before its official London launch event, Nothing dropped a teaser that made one thing unmistakably clear: the Phone (4a) Pro will carry one of the most beloved features from last year's flagship.
Nothing confirmed via its official X account that the Phone (4a) Pro will feature the Glyph Matrix rear display from the Nothing Phone (3) — or at least a very similar version of it. The Glyph Matrix was the Phone (3)'s defining standout feature.
With Nothing having officially confirmed there will be no Phone (4) in 2026, the Phone (4a) Pro now carries the responsibility of keeping the Glyph Matrix alive — while the standard Phone (4a) comes with the simpler Glyph Bar instead.
Nothing had already shown the Phone (4a) in white, pink, black, and blue — including at MWC 2026 — but was remarkably tight-lipped about the Phone (4a) Pro ahead of the March 5 launch event, seemingly saving its biggest reveal for the stage.
Glyph Matrix is a small dot-matrix display embedded in the back of the phone. Unlike the line-based Glyph lighting system on earlier Nothing phones, it can render text, numbers, icons, and visual patterns — showing notifications, timers, audio visualizers, and live data without needing to unlock the main display. It was widely regarded as the most inventive feature of any smartphone in 2025.
