The MatePad Pro Max is Huawei's latest premium tablet with thinness as one of its biggest selling points. At just 4.7mm thick and weighing 499 grams, Huawei claims the MatePad Pro Max is the world's thinnest and lightest flagship tablet. It launched at Huawei's "Now Is Your Spark" global event in Bangkok, Thailand on May 7, 2026.
The MatePad Pro Max features a sleek full-metal unibody design powered by the new Cloud Falcon Architecture. It is the first tablet to receive the TÜV Rheinland Ultra-thin Bending Resistance Certification, boasting 60% better bending resistance compared to the previous generation. A luminous finish available exclusively on the blue version creates shifting colors from every angle.
The 13.2-inch flexible OLED panel delivers 3,000×2,000 pixel resolution with 1,600 nits peak brightness and ultra-narrow 3.55mm bezels for an immersive viewing experience. The 94% screen-to-body ratio is achieved with no notch or cutout — the front camera is hidden inside the bezel itself. PaperMatte technology reduces glare and improves visibility in bright environments.
Huawei hasn't officially disclosed the processor name, though leaks point to a Kirin 9-series chip. RAM is 12GB with storage options of 256GB or 512GB.
Despite the wafer-thin chassis, Huawei managed to fit a 10,400mAh battery inside, good for around 14 hours of video playback on a single charge, with 66W wired fast charging and 40W wired reverse charging support.
Six speakers and four microphones, a 50MP rear camera, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0 round out the hardware. The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.3 with PC-level multitasking features including Live-Multitask, integration with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, and the lightweight HUAWEI Glide Keyboard.
The MatePad Pro Max launches in 12/256GB and 12/512GB configurations starting at £999.99, available in Shimmery Blue and Space Gray. The PaperMatte Edition at 509 grams adds nano-etched anti-glare display technology.
The MatePad Pro Max runs HarmonyOS 4.3, which means no Google Play Store and no native access to Android apps. This limits its appeal outside China and to users not already invested in the Huawei ecosystem.
