Telegram is one of the best messaging apps available, supporting all file types with a generous 2GB per file limit and cloud-based storage accessible from any device. Here are all the ways to transfer your Telegram files from mobile to PC.
Download and install the official Telegram Desktop app from desktop.telegram.org for Windows, macOS, or Linux. Open it and click Start Messaging. A QR Code will appear on screen. On your phone, go to Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device and scan the QR code. All your chats sync instantly — click any file to download it to your PC.
Alternatively, log in by entering your phone number and the verification code sent to your phone.
Open any browser on your PC and go to web.telegram.org. Log in via QR code or phone number. Access all your chats and download any file directly from the browser.
On your phone, forward any file to Saved Messages (your personal cloud storage). On your PC via Telegram Desktop or Web, open Saved Messages and download the file. Files remain accessible from any device at any time.
Connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable and select File Transfer mode. Navigate to the Telegram folder in internal storage, which contains: Telegram Images, Telegram Video, Telegram Documents, and Telegram Audio. Copy the desired files to your PC.
In Telegram Desktop, open a chat, click the three dots (⋮), and select Export Chat History. Choose which content to include (texts, photos, videos, files) and set a save location. The export is saved as an HTML folder called ChatExport viewable in any browser.
