Android is the world's most popular mobile OS, but like any system it comes with its share of common issues. Here are the top 5 problems users face and how to fix them.
Problem 1 — Forgotten screen lock pattern or password. If you forget your lock pattern, tap "Forgot Pattern" after several failed attempts and sign in with your Google account to reset it. Requires internet connection. Alternatively, use Google's Find My Device remotely.
Problem 2 — Can't install APK from outside Google Play. Android blocks third-party installs by default. Go to Settings → Security → Unknown Sources and enable it. On Android 8+, when opening an APK, allow the specific app (browser/file manager) to install it. Only install from trusted sources, then disable the setting again.
Problem 3 — App download errors on Google Play. Check available storage first. Then clear Google Play Store cache: Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Clear Cache/Data. Restart and retry. If it persists, sign out and back in to your Google account.
Problem 4 — Storage running out. Back up photos to Google Photos and files to Google Drive. Delete unused apps. Clear app cache via Settings → Apps. Use Files by Google to find and remove large unnecessary files. Consider moving files to a microSD card if supported.
Problem 5 — Battery draining fast. Check Settings → Battery to see which apps drain most power. Restrict background activity for heavy apps. Reduce screen brightness. Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS when not needed. Delete unused apps that run in the background.
