Honor is on a roll with its announcements, and the latest addition to its X-series lineup is a refresh of the battery champion Honor X70, launched back in July. Honor also unveiled its latest fitness-oriented smartwatch — the Watch X5i, which brings a 1.97-inch AMOLED and up to 21 days of battery endurance.
The X70 Refresh Edition has three changes: 1) it comes in a new Sunrise Gold color, 2) ships with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, and 3) is CNY 300 ($44) more expensive than the regular Honor X70.
As for the rest of the spec sheet, it's identical to the Honor X70 — a 6.8-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, 50MP main camera, and an 8,300mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging.
Pricing starts at CNY 1,699 ($247) for the 8GB/128GB trim and goes up to CNY 2,399 ($349) for the 12GB/512GB version.
The X70 Refresh Edition will very likely remain exclusive to China just like the regular Honor X70.
The Watch X5i is a fitness-oriented smartwatch that boots a real-time operating system (RTOS) without support for third-party apps.
It brings a 1.97-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 390×450px resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and Always On Display functionality. It weighs 41 grams including the watch strap and features a metallic midframe.
It is 1ATM waterproof rated, meaning it is suitable for light water exposure but not actual submersion or swimming.
The Watch X5i brings 24/7 heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and stress tracking, and supports over 100 sports modes.
It pairs over Bluetooth 5.4 with support for on-device Bluetooth calling and is compatible with Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS devices.
The Watch X5i's 420mAh battery delivers up to 21 days of usage under normal conditions or 6 days in AOD mode.
Honor Watch X5i comes in Midnight Black and Starlight White for CNY 219 ($32), available from Honor's official online store in China with deliveries starting April 15.
The Honor X70 Refresh Edition is more of a symbolic update than a meaningful one — the same phone with a new color and a pre-installed OS upgrade for a higher price. The Watch X5i, however, offers solid value at $32 with an exceptional 21-day battery life for a smartwatch in this segment.
