Last year, we heard that Honor's Robot Phone would enter mass production in the first half of 2026. Later, rumors surfaced that the Robot Phone would launch in Q3 2026. Well, the rumors have proven true, as Honor has officially confirmed that the Robot Phone will launch in Q3 2026, meaning anytime between July and September.
The confirmation came at Cannes China Night during the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where Honor showcased the Robot Phone to demonstrate its imaging capabilities. World-renowned filmmakers, actors, and celebrities praised its ability to deliver complex, stabilized tracking shots through a compact and intelligent form factor.
The Robot Phone is a high-end smartphone fitted with a motorized camera arm that folds out from the rear panel. The module houses a 200-megapixel main sensor built into what Honor describes as the smallest 4DoF gimbal system in the industry. The arm can mechanically extend, rotate, and stabilize footage, offering subject tracking for videos and hands-free shooting.
Honor once again confirmed that the Robot Phone will be the first to benefit from the Honor-ARRI partnership announced in March.
ARRI is best known for building professional-tier cameras including the Alexa series, which has been used on major blockbuster films for over 15 years. "Core elements of ARRI Image Science are being integrated directly" into the camera experience.
Honor integrated AI-driven interactions: users can speak to the assistant, and the camera module can respond with physical gestures such as nodding or shaking, adding a playful robotic element. When not in use, the camera neatly retracts back into the body.
Honor is positioning the Robot Phone as the "next evolution of mobile filmmaking and AI hardware innovation." While most of its technical specs and features are under wraps, Honor has promised to reveal more about the Robot Phone "very soon."
