10/03/2026

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion India Hands-On: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, World-First Sony LYT-710, 7,000mAh at ₹26,999

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion made its India debut on March 6, 2026, following its European reveal at MWC earlier this week.

Pricing starts at ₹26,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, with 8GB/256GB at ₹29,999 and 12GB/256GB at ₹32,999 — available via Flipkart, Motorola's website, and retail stores.

Display: Extreme AMOLED with Quad-Curved Design

The 6.8-inch AMOLED quad-curved display delivers 2,772×1,272 pixels (450 ppi), 5,200 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color, Gorilla Glass 7i, and Widevine L1 for 1080p streaming.

Refresh rate modes include Efficiency first (up to 60Hz), Smart and balanced (up to 120Hz), and Hyper smooth (up to 120Hz). The full 144Hz is reserved for gaming only.

Camera: World's First Sony LYT-710

Motorola claims the Edge 70 Fusion is the first phone globally to use the Sony LYT-710 sensor — 50MP, f/1.8, OIS — with motoAI enhancing texture, color accuracy, and motion detection in real time.

The squircle camera island houses the 50MP Sony LYT-710 main camera, a 13MP ultrawide with 120° FOV that also supports macro photography, a 3-in-1 ambient sensor, and an LED flash. The front camera is 32MP at f/2.2, capable of 4K video at 30fps.

Performance: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 1M+ AnTuTu

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is paired with a 4,473mm² vapor chamber cooling system, with Motorola claiming over 1 million AnTuTu points. motoAI 2.0 integrates contextual suggestions, image generation, transcription, and works with Perplexity, Copilot, and Google Gemini.

Battery: 7,000mAh in a Slim Body

A 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 68W TurboPower fast charging delivers up to 52 hours of typical use — 10 minutes of charging is claimed to power a full day. The phone is 7.99mm thin and weighs 193g.

Durability and Design

IP68/IP69 rated with MIL-STD-810H certification and drop resistance up to 1.2 meters. The linen-inspired textured rear panel comes in three Pantone colors: Blue Surf, Country Air, and Silhouette.

Hands-On Impressions

The in-display optical fingerprint scanner was fast and responsive in brief testing, though its placement is on the lower side — positioning it higher on the display would improve the unlocking ergonomics.
