One of the under-the-radar changes in the Galaxy S26 Ultra versus the S25 Ultra is the switch from a titanium frame to aluminum — a change that raises legitimate durability questions. PBKreviews delivered his drop test video to find out how Samsung's latest flagship holds up.
Beyond the aluminum frame, S26 Ultra features more rounded corners and a more exposed camera island than last year. Glass protection is unchanged: Gorilla Armor 2 on the display and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back — identical to S25 Ultra.
Drop #1 caused visible damage to the left corner frame, but the screen survived intact. Drop #2 cracked the glass in front of the 5x telephoto lens. Drop #3 completely shattered that lens glass along with additional frame scrapes.
Conclusion: S26 Ultra fares a little worse than the S25 Ultra under drop conditions, but remains fully functional throughout.
The internals look nearly identical to last year's model with the same disassembly procedure. On the motherboard, Samsung added more thermal paste for improved heat management alongside a redesigned vapor chamber — same size as S25 Ultra's but with a slightly different shape.
S26 Ultra earns a 9/10 repairability rating — the exact same score as the S25 Ultra.
