Early details about the Redmi K100 Pro Max have emerged from China, painting a picture of a device that may push the K-series further into true flagship territory — both in specs and in price.
According to a Chinese tipster, the Redmi K100 Pro Max will feature a new 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, alongside an upgraded 50MP periscope telephoto camera compared to its predecessor.
For context, the Redmi K90 Pro Max uses three 50MP rear cameras, with its main sensor measuring 1/1.31 inches — making the new sensor marginally larger, but with a dramatic jump in resolution.
The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, though it's unclear which variant — Qualcomm has been rumored to launch two top-tier chips this year: the standard 8 Elite Gen 6 and an extreme-performance version referred to in leaks as the 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Both are expected to be built on a 2nm process.
A separate leak placed the starting price of the Redmi K100 Pro Max at around CNY 5,000, approximately $725 at current exchange rates.
That pricing would firmly place it in full flagship territory — a notable shift for a series that built its reputation on aggressive value pricing.
These details are unconfirmed and the device is still many months away from launching, so all specs should be treated with caution for now.
