Pinterest is one of the most popular platforms for inspiration and creative ideas — millions of videos covering cooking recipes, décor ideas, workouts, and fashion spread daily. But the app doesn't provide a direct video download button on iPhone — this is a deliberate decision to protect content rights.
The good news is there are several simple and effective methods that let you save any Pinterest video directly to your Camera Roll in full quality without a watermark.
To apply the following methods all you need is: the Pinterest app installed on your device, a stable internet connection, and either the File Manager app (available free on the App Store) or the Documents app by Readdle (also free).
This method relies on the free "File Manager" app available on the App Store. If it's not installed on your device, search for it by name and download it.
Step 1 — Copy the Video Link from Pinterest
Open the Pinterest app and find the video you want to download. Tap on the video to open it full size. At the bottom of the screen you'll find the Share icon (an arrow pointing upward). Tap it then choose "Copy Link" from the options shown. The link is now saved to your clipboard.
Step 2 — Paste the Link in File Manager
Open the File Manager app. On the main interface you'll find a text box designated for entering links. Tap inside the box then tap "Paste" to enter the video link. Press the "Download" button.
Step 3 — Wait for Download to Complete
The app will start downloading the video and the progress percentage will appear on screen. After downloading completes the video automatically moves to the "My Files" section inside the app.
Step 4 — Save the Video to Camera Roll
In "My Files" find the downloaded video. Tap the three dots beside it to open the options menu. Choose "Save to Camera Roll." The video is now in your Photos app, ready to share and edit.
Documents is one of the most powerful file management apps on iOS and includes an internal browser capable of downloading videos directly.
Step 1 — Open Documents and tap the browser icon at the bottom of the screen (looks like a compass). Step 2 — Navigate to any Pinterest video download website through the internal browser such as pinterestdownloader.com. Step 3 — Paste the copied Pinterest video link into the site and press download. Step 4 — When the download option appears press "Download" and the video will be saved inside Documents. Step 5 — Go to the Downloads section inside Documents, tap the three dots beside the video, then choose "Save to Photo Library."
If you don't want to install any additional apps you can use online download websites directly from Safari.
Step 1 — Copy the video link from the Pinterest app as explained earlier. Step 2 — Open Safari and navigate to a download site like pinterestdownloader.com, savefrom.net, or pindown.net. Step 3 — Paste the link into the site's search box and press download. Step 4 — Quality options will appear (HD or SD). Choose your preferred quality and tap "Download." Step 5 — On iPhone the video will open in Safari. Press and hold on the video then choose "Save Video" to save it to your Camera Roll.
The Shortcuts app built into iOS allows creating a one-tap shortcut to download Pinterest videos. Search in the Shortcuts sharing store for "Pinterest Downloader Shortcut" and install it. When you run it, the copied link is automatically processed and ends with the video saved to your album.
File Manager app is the easiest and fastest for most users. Documents app is better if you download many videos since it organizes your files more effectively. Online websites require no installation but involve more steps. Shortcuts is ideal if you use this frequently.
An important note on intellectual property: videos on Pinterest are protected by the copyright of their owners. It's recommended to download videos for personal use only and not republish them without the owner's permission.
