The vivo X500 series is expected to debut later this year as the successor to the current X300 lineup. Although the official launch is several months away, leaks have already revealed key details. According to tipster Smart Pikachu, every model in the upcoming vivo X500 series will feature a battery with a capacity of at least 7,000mAh.
The OPPO Find X9 series already ships multiple devices equipped with batteries exceeding 7,000mAh. In comparison, only one model in the current vivo X300 series has crossed the 7,000mAh mark.
For comparison: X300 at 6,040mAh, X300 Pro at 6,510mAh, X300 Ultra at 7,100mAh only. X500 makes 7,000mAh the minimum for every model including the base.
Leaks point to three models launching in China in September: X500 (6.59"), X500 Pro (6.37"), and X500 Pro Max (6.85"). X500 Ultra is expected later in the first half of 2027.
A recent IMEI database listing suggests there's also an X500 Pro Max — an entirely new model never before seen in the X series.
X500 Ultra is expected with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The other models run on MediaTek Dimensity 9600.
The jump is made possible by silicon-carbon anode technology, which packs more energy into the same physical space. That chemistry lets vivo increase density without adding bulk — the usual trade-off that has kept flagships locked around 5,000mAh for years.
The vivo X300 Pro shipped with a 5,440mAh battery in Austria versus 6,510mAh in Asian markets — a 16% reduction. The same pattern could apply to the X500 series in Europe, meaning the headline number may not be what lands on shelves outside China.
Chinese brands like vivo often avoid the number four because in various Chinese languages, the pronunciation of the number four is very similar to the word for death. So vivo jumps directly to X500.
